experimental measurements
Phase equilibrium measurements have been conducted for a variety of systems using the apparati of TTPL. Specifically:
- Vapor - liquid equilibrium: Measurements have been conducted in the VLE apparatus regarding Acid Gas-Alkanolamine-Water systems, Ethanol-Water system, etc.
- Solid - liquid equilibrium: Solubility of various solid components in organic solvents were measured. The compounds examined were of interest in the pharmaceutical and food industry, i.e. antioxidants, antibiotics, sugars and sugars derivatives, etc. More specifically, part of this study was conducted in collaboration with Bayer Technology Services GmbH.
- Phase Equilibria in supercritical CO2: The solubility of aromatic compounds (p-quinone, anthraquinone, etc.) in supercritical CO2 as well as the Melting Point Depression of Organic Compounds with Supercritical CO2 were studied experimentally in the Phase Equilibrium units, in which dynamic, static, as well as optical measurements can be conducted.
- Solubility of organic compounds in ionic liquids.
